THE HIKE

Hey everybody! Well, I am back from the hike and boy was that an adventure! It ended up being a 25 mile hike and it was a rough 25 miles. We got there and we started hiking in forest. It was beautiful. Then we stopped for lunch and after lunch a couple of our group got ahead. So we decided to catch up to them. On was an experienced hiker and the other a young man determined not to let a girl beat him. We waited for a part of our group that was behind us then we realized we had gone off the trail and let them pass us up. It was desert the rest of the way and we hiked 11 miles before we caught up to the two and our leader who had gone ahead to find them. We finally found a place to stop for the night. I was pretty sore at the two who had gone ahead and had to apologize later for some ill feelings. But, we were tired from trying to catch up to them all day so I had a pretty good excuse right? Well the next day we attempted to stay together. Then came the mountain, which some of us dubbed Death Mountain. It took us 2 hours to get up this mountain. We were all running low on water and when got to the top found out that there was no water on the other side, so where shall we go but back down. We were dehydrated, hungry, tired and vey sore. We got to the bottom an hour later and went to the water and sat in it. By the end, we had a rescue party out for us. A very exciting trip.
